Cri du Chat Syndrome
When asked about her syndrome, Emily will tell you it’s cry like a cat syndrome or 5p- and that she is missing a small piece of the short arm of her 5th chromosome!
When it was time to write about it, I think the word chromosome scared her so she wrote this instead:
“I don’t see myself different”
This statement is more powerful than anything I could ever write.

That’s so powerful!!! I think that’s the apt word. She’s got such wonderful energy in her. It’s super that she thinks of herself as no different than anyone else. I hope she stays strong and blessed all her life!
Thank you!
I don’t want people to see me different but I am and being different is amazing and hopefully one day Emily will see being different is amazing too!!!!! xoxoxox

We are trying to make it fun.
That means you and John have done an amazing job at making her feel exactly that… she is no different. And that you have achieved your goal. π xx
Thank you Mel!
You know my son is the same way. I’m glad they don’t see themselves as different and we don’t dwell on it!
It’s difficult when she doesn’t understands why others see her as different. π’
Wow! Powerful statement for sure! That really does say it all! Bravo
Emily.
She never ceases to amaze me

So amazing and so reassuring for Emily. She’s not different, anymore than each of us is different from others. Love it!

I love this very insightful statement from a remarkable young lady.
Thank you! She’s quite amazing.
You’re doing an amazing job raising your daughter! She’s so loved and nurtured that she can’t see herself as different, just your daughter!! Bravo!
Peace,
Tamara
Thank you!
What a wonderful thing to read this morning. From the mouth of babes β€ she’s one smart cookie
She certainly is!
I love that she’s doing this challenge with you. My little miss helped me with some of my letters too and my little man helped me with some of the stories π I just love it!
She wants to write and I thought this would be a perfect opportunity for her! It’s a little more work to get her to write than I first thought but I’m hoping we will pull through. It’s so much fun that your kids are involved too. β€οΈ
Best of luck! Can’t wait to read more xoxo
