Cri du Chat Syndrome
When asked about her syndrome, Emily will tell you it’s cry like a cat syndrome or 5p- and that she is missing a small piece of the short arm of her 5th chromosome!
When it was time to write about it, I think the word chromosome scared her so she wrote this instead:
“I don’t see myself different”
This statement is more powerful than anything I could ever write.

That’s so powerful!!! I think that’s the apt word. She’s got such wonderful energy in her. It’s super that she thinks of herself as no different than anyone else. I hope she stays strong and blessed all her life!

You know my son is the same way. I’m glad they don’t see themselves as different and we don’t dwell on it!
It’s difficult when she doesn’t understands why others see her as different. 😢

I love that she’s doing this challenge with you. My little miss helped me with some of my letters too and my little man helped me with some of the stories 🙂 I just love it!
She wants to write and I thought this would be a perfect opportunity for her! It’s a little more work to get her to write than I first thought but I’m hoping we will pull through. It’s so much fun that your kids are involved too. ❤️
