A to Z Challenge – Day 3 – C

C

Cri du Chat Syndrome

When asked about her syndrome, Emily will tell you it’s cry like a cat syndrome or 5p- and that she is missing a small piece of the short arm of her 5th chromosome!

When it was time to write about it, I think the word chromosome scared her so she wrote this instead:

“I don’t see myself different”

This statement is more powerful than anything I could ever write.

  1. That’s so powerful!!! I think that’s the apt word. She’s got such wonderful energy in her. It’s super that she thinks of herself as no different than anyone else. I hope she stays strong and blessed all her life!

  2. I don’t want people to see me different but I am and being different is amazing and hopefully one day Emily will see being different is amazing too!!!!! xoxoxox

  3. I don’t want people to see me different but I am and I know that being different is amazing and hopefully Emily will see that one day!!!!!

  4. That means you and John have done an amazing job at making her feel exactly that… she is no different. And that you have achieved your goal. πŸ™‚ xx

  5. So amazing and so reassuring for Emily. She’s not different, anymore than each of us is different from others. Love it!

  6. You’re doing an amazing job raising your daughter! She’s so loved and nurtured that she can’t see herself as different, just your daughter!! Bravo!

    Peace,
    Tamara
