The summer before Emily started high school, we decided to have her math and English reading skills tested at our local Sylvan Learning Center
Emily was missing skills normally acquired in 1st grade.
We don’t know what Emily can or can’t learn but we know that she is learning so with that in mind, we invested in her. So far, a small fortune has been invested in her private tutoring but to see her reading skills improving is priceless.
Today, she received a card.

When she opened the card, she started to read out loud so I stopped her and recorded her.

My baby can read. She’s awesome, she’s a rockstar and I adore her for not giving up and continuously trying.

Diane, I didn’t realized you were still reading my blog. Emily is progressing so well right now with her reading. I’m so proud of her. I showed her your comment, she’s beaming with pride 🙂
I cried! That was so lovely to watch!!!
Thank you. I never thought while growing up that I could ever be so proud of a 16 year old reading :). I am learning so much just by being Emily’s mom, by witnessing how determined she is and by sharing in her success. I’m amazed by her.
Most definitely a super rock star! Bravo Emily !
Thank you Jude. I am so amaze by the things she can do.
