Happiness

It’s not about being rich financially and being surrounded by perfect people doing everything they are supposed to when they are scheduled too.

Happiness is finding a way to appreciate and be thankful for your own circumstances.

For many, it’s easier said than done but with daily reminders to find little things that make you happy, you will find happiness.

I am thankful for family

I am thankful for a stranger who became family and will do anything to make Emily smile

I am thankful for the food we can afford and that brings us together.

I am thankful for hugs, kisses and silliness.

I am thankful for the opportunity to see my nephews get older and for being spoiled by having my mom as a friend.

I am happy and blessed. I know some people might think there is something wrong with me. I must be in denial, I have lost  loved ones and I have a child with special needs…

Well, it’s a choice I make daily.

Happiness!

The power of cuddles

It doesn’t matter that she’s 16 years old.

When Emily is not feeling well, she’s turning into that little girl who needs to cuddle her way through it and come out feeling better.

She’s as tall as me so the cuddling is slightly different but still involves her head on my chest/shoulder. Her arm around my stomach and one leg over mines…

It involves me getting way to warm and most likely not sleeping much but if my girl needs it, I am going to make sure she gets it!
