A to Z Challenge – Day 6 – F

F

Funny

This is my favorite post so far. Emily worked really hard on this one.

This is a story she doesn’t tire to tell.   My dad did something so funny.  On December 24 (4 years ago).  I was in my room and heard something.  It was chestnuts exploding in the oven.  Do not put chestnuts in the oven without drilling a hole in them.

This is really sound advice.

We did learn something really valuable that day.

You know that song…. “chestnuts roasting on an open fire”  They don’t tell you to put a hole in the chestnut before you roast them.

The chestnuts exploded in the oven and once we got the pan out of the oven, one chestnuts exploded in the kitchen and the others exploded as soon as they hit the snow on the back deck!

My favorite people

I am a lucky girl, my favorite people live here, with me.

Just being with them recharge my batteries.

And going out for a late breakfast with them is one of my favorite thing to do.

A little over 10 years ago when we first moved here, we discovered this restaurant in town, the staff is great, the food is basic but good and the service is “not fast“.

The speed (or lack of) for getting your food could be seen as a down side for some but we always enjoy it.  We bring things to do or we just chat along.

The staff there know us by name and have enjoyed seeing Emily grown into the beautiful young lady that she is now.

Although Emily brought a book along, she ended-up playing on her phone and Jonathan couldn’t stop himself from trying to help her with her game.

I love those 2!

Tell me, how do you recharge your batteries?
