Xylophone
Christmas 1999, Emily is 18 months old and after 5 months of working on her physio exercises, she’s finally sitting independently.
This picture represents so much! This was such a huge milestone for all of us.
With 1 hour of physio therapy per month, we, Jonathan, our babysitter Monique and I did hours of exercises with Emily daily.
HOURS
Jon and I had full-time employment but Emily got all the physio, OT, speech, special education, nutrition and everything else she needed at home from us before and after work while our angel (Monique) did as much as she could while babysitting Emily and other kids!
This picture, this milestone, showed us once again that Emily could do more!

I started with Christmas 1999, and was compelled to watch Emily grow.. it was so wonderful to see dedication and hard work within a loving family.. thank you for sharing.
Thank you for reading β€οΈ
You’ve all come a very long way !
Yes, we’ve all grown! π
She’s adorable. I remember all those years of therapy with Dave. Seems like it will never end. I chose xylophone for X, also!
She was always a cutie! π we’ve had years when we had no idea how to keep it together and I look back wondering how we managed it all… I’ll look for your post!
I think you just accept it and go with it after awhile.
I think so too!
Made me tear up. π
I tear up when I write too! π those early milestones were so extremely important to Emily but also to our sanity as parents!
I totally get it. Although in our case, they weren’t physical, but more cognitive, social, and daily routine independence things. But whenever one is reached, it hits the heart hard. π
