Music
I think my girl just realized that 26 stories in 30 days is a lot of work so she’s sitting on the couch watching Sam and Cat on Netflix while playing on her Nintendo DS.
She picked Music for the letter M so I will tell you about the only concert we’ve attended.
On July 1st, last year, Emily and I attended the R5 concert!
R5 is a band made up of 4 siblings and 1 friend. Of the siblings, Ross, the lead singer is really well known to the little ones as Austin Moon in Austin and Ally on the Disney Channel. The oldest sibling and base player is Riker Lynch which Emily discovered on Dancing With The Stars.
Riker is Emily’s favorite!
To make this concert even better, I bought Emily the meet and greet pass!
It was more like get behind the curtain, get your picture taken and move on than a meet and greet but my girl was happy so I am happy!
Just before entering the room for the picture, Emily told the lady that Riker was her favorite so they had her stand between Riker and Ross!!!
See that look on my girl’s face?
I believe the photographer captured the moment when Emily decided to go for it!
As soon as the picture was taken, Emily turned to her right, told Riker she loved him and hugged him with everything she had!
My girl!!!
Riker said he loved her too and hugged her back!
I am so proud of my girl for seeing an opportunity and going for it!
How I wished I had a chance to squeeze Donnie Walhberg that way when I was her age
We had awesome seats in the VIP section!
It was a “rock” concert. It was really loud ans the light show was impressive!
Look at my girl!
This is my girl with sensory issues!
She stayed for the whole show, on her feet, singing and dancing till the end.
I explained to her about the “encore”
Than as soon as the lights were on, she said: “Let’s get out of here!”
On the way home, she was super excited about the experience and about hugging Riker. When I asked her if she wanted to do this again, she said no!

Wow! Pretty cool experience !
We had so much fun!!!
What an amazing experience and lovely memories that you 2 made. And you can tell Emily from me, 26 writings in 30 days is definitely tough. Typing N’s whilst watching the tennis, multi-tasking at it’s best. Blessings Joy
That’s fantastic! Isn’t it funny? The times when you’d think they’d be completely overstimulated, yet they thrive. But then the texture of a pea will cause issues. Never dull, is it? 😃
Never dull!!! It was so funny that she was not interested in getting closer to the stage and as soon as the lights were on she said “let’s get out of here”! She was done, the guys were still on the stage goofing around but she had reached that point of no return. It must have taken do much energy for her to stay through and enjoy the show….
Well, the look on her face says she enjoyed it. Glad she went. No substitute for experiences. 😃
Emily is so amazing!! 🙂 but what is more amazing to me is the love you have for her…buying her the most expensive tickets and making sure she enjoyed herself… And most of all, giving her the best experience you can… What a lovely parent you are ❤ I'm sure Emily stayed on at the concert also for what you did for her.. lots of love and hugs to you both! 🙂
Thank you. We are lucky enough to be able to afford to do things like this sometimes. This was an expensive evening but to see Emily enjoy it and to give us that experience was so worth it! I want her to discover and experience life and that night, we got one more thing done 😊
Kudos!!! Looking forward to more amazing posts about your beautiful moments 🙂
Thank you!
What a wonderful experience. It looks like she had a lot of fun.
She did! And I did. I bought all their music as soon as we bought the tickets so Emily and I could learn more of their songs. It was so much fun, I hope we will get to do something like this again one day.
That is so awesome, that Emily went to the concert and got to meet the group. So awesome!! And no earmuffs? Wow! I am very impressed. My son would not be able to handle the crowd or the music volume. What a wonderful memory for you guys.
I didn’t think she would tolerate but she did awesome although she has been saying that she’s not going to do it again…
