It’s day 1 of a great challenge that Emily and I joined.
American Girl Dolls
As Emily picked all the words I figured she would write a lot more…
Emily was first introduced to those American Girl Dolls by her friend Abby in 2010 in Boston.
Of course, Em wanted a doll too but I said no and told her that if by her birthday she still wanted a doll that we would consider.
By March 2011, not quite her birthday, we traveled to Dallas with Abby’s family with some really specific objectives.
- Catch a NHL game featuring Chicago.
- Discover Krispy Kreme donuts
- Buy Emily her first American Girl Doll… Miley
I say first because…
And please don’t judge us to harshly…
Emily now has 15 of those lovely dolls.
Some we ordered onlines, some were purchased by relatives or by Emily herself with money received as gifts.
Others, we bought at the AG store. We visited: Boston (no dolls) Dallas, Kansas City, New York, Orlando, Toronto and this summer we will add Edmonton 😊.

You can never have too many dolls 😊 x
I’m so not reading this to Emily… 😉.
Ha! It’s true – I love teddy bears – always have 😊 my mom was the same. When she passed away I brought all her teddies home. Jeff put up extra shelves in the bedroom, just for teddy bears ❤
Yoohoo! Emily – dolls and bears rocks! 😊 xx
I love your first post for the challenge and nope, I don’t judge you for those dolls…better than too many video games and then again, to each his own…they really are beautiful dolls…My first Krispie Kreme was when I lived in Toronto.Boy they are so sweet…may as well eat des grandpères dans le syrop d’érable 😉
Yummy grand-père dans le sirop d’érable…. As for the dolls, it’s now called a collection and I know she will love them and play with them for a long time so I guess I’m ok. 💜. Thank you for reading!
🙂 Bon weekend! x
Tell Emily, wonderful job! We have a great American Girls store in Chicago 😉

Thank you! We’ve been wanting to go to the one in Chicago from the beginning of this adventure but we couldn’t be in Chicago when the Blackhawks where in town (Hockey). That’s how we ended-up in Dallas…. lol. We will find our way to Chicago eventually!
Good! I haven’t been but I hear the store is great!
Emily has memorized the floor plan 🙂 It looks like a great store!
Aww, sweet!
Thumbs up!
😊 thank you!
