Prom

I can’t believe I didn’t show you this!

Emily is a senior, it’s prom season and although she doesn’t want to go to prom she wants a prom so….

Here we go again, party planning!

We are throwing Emily a prom.

We rented a banquet hall with staffed bar (she will be old enough), hired a dj / karaoke, got a decoration committee together, rented tablecloth and chair bows, decided on a theme, made a guest list, found an amazing cupcake lady, plan the finger food, got Emily a tiara and are now looking at hairstyles and planning the “Emily Hopes and Dreams” exclusive centre pieces.

My girl is getting her prom. With friends and their families!

It will be memorable!

Seriously, look at her! 😍

Sonia runs 4 Emily

I mentioned this before in Emily’s 17th birthday post… Here!

But let me tell you again!

If you have a child or adult in your care who has special needs, please take a minute to look at the I Run 4 Michael group on Facebook or check their website :  I run 4 Michael

They have lots of runners waiting to be match with a buddy.

Our runner, Sonia, has become part of our family, she cheers for Emily and dedicates her training and races to my girl.

She is an ambassador for Emily and for Cri du chat syndrome.

Yesterday Emily received a box in the mail from Sonia. She managed to read the first paragraph (it was a long one) and asked me to read the rest to her.

When she opened the box, it was full of goodies from 3 races/marathon Sonia completed.

What a treat it was.

Emily’s friendship with Sonia makes her feel important. 😊 She is Sonia’s inspiration to train!

How cool is that? IMG_7580
