Today, I sent a text to Emily saying only “Hi”. The picture below is what happened next!
This is huge to us and probably insignificant to parents of “normal” teenagers.
So, does it have to be big in order to be BIG?

Thank you. I guess the hours she spent with a tutor working on reading are paying off. It’s always such a treat to witness a new skill developing.
Doesn’t matter at all, our ‘bigs’ are only measured by the happiness and smiles they bring, so I would imagine this was a wonderful ‘big’ for a proud mum… Look out! Next she’ll be texting boys:)

I don’t think it’s size, but how noticeable it is. Some things I don’t notice right away and then when I do, a couple days later, it’s like a bomb. If I notice right away, it’s like, “AH” and I relish it inside, but outside I’m moving along status quo.
I agree! Sometimes we don’t notice right away either than suddenly there is this new thing Emily has been doing and we are so excited.
